05 May An Ode to Mycelium
EarthTech, as the name suggests, is a tech company, but we’re not just obsessed with tech. We are also obsessed with nature and people. We believe that learning from and mimicking the intelligence of nature and the power of community is the best way for humanity to come together and efficiently unlock a sustainable way of life. In particular, we love the way mycelium functions, and we’re trying to replicate the way it works to help the humans who are leaning into impact and conscious capitalism.
Mycelium is a network of fungal threads that live in the soil. It provides the nodes that link communities of trees and other flora together in a collaborative and mutually supportive way. Mycelium passes information from one tree’s root system to another, sharing nutrients and information across forests – enabling the whole ecosystem to connect and thrive. That’s what we aspire to at EarthTech – to connect and curate collaboration between funds, programs, innovation and projects. To help them articulate who they are, what they are looking for and how a value exchange between parties might work.
